A helyiség üres voltára az a magyarázat, hogy a sok viszontagságot megélt szállodát 1991-ben bezárták és 1997-ig gyakorlatilag üresen állt, míg a Corinthia lánc meg nem vásárolta és hosszas, igényes felújítás után 2003-ban meg nem nyitotta, Corinthia Hotel Budapest néven.

In the photo, you can see the windows of a room in the Royal Grand Hotel. The room is empty because the hotel was closed in 1991 and was practically empty until 1997, when it was bought by the Corinthia chain. It was reopened in 2003 as the Corinthia Hotel Budapest, after a long and demanding renovation.
