A view from the Savoy terrace of the Royal Palace (today Buda Castle Palace). Eugene of Savoy's equestrian statue (József Róna, 1899) is in the forefront. The city of Zenta ordered the statue from the sculptor, but despite the fact that a prize drawing was advertised, they could not pay. It was first exhibited in 1899 during the Spring Exhibition in front of the Art Gallery without a pedestal. It took its present place in 1900, in front of the Palace, at the request of the monarch. It was damaged in 1944-45 and demolished in 1968. It was re-established in 1971 after restoration. The photo was donated by Mariann Olbert.
