A Népszínház utca 40. szám alatti házban akkor élők tanúsítása az 1944. októberében lezajlott „csatáról”. A zsidókat az utcára terelték és elvitték a sárga csillagos házakból, rendőri- illetve SS-segédlettel. Az elbújt majd megtalált zsidókat agyonlőtték. A Nyilatkozat írója közli, hogy egy, a ház átkutatásával megbízott személy egy rendőrőrmesternél feljelentette őket, amikor rájuk talált egy fűszerüzlet hátsó részében. A rendőrőrmester megígérte, hogy nem esik bántódásuk az első emeleti lakásban, ahová felvitte őket a fűszerüzletből, és élelmet is biztosíttatott számukra. A rendőrőrmester által megmentett kilenc üldözött közül hárman eltűntek, és a Nyilatkozat alulírottjai maradtak csak életben.

The text of Declaration tells about the battle in Népszínház street 40., in October of 1944, certified by Jewish residents. The Jews were headed from yellow starred houses, with an SS and police escort. The hid and later found Jews were shot down. The writer of the Declaration intimates that a man who was entrusted with searches of the building reported them, when he found them in rear section of a grocery. The policeman had promised that they were not be harmed, and he led them to first floor, and he ensured food for them. Three from nine person who were saved by the policeman disappeared, and persons who subscribed the Declaration stayed alive.
