A pompeji ásatásoknál napvilágra került Thermopolium (vendéglő) márvánnyal kirakott, sarokszerűen kiképzett pultja, az utcai részen lépcsőzetesen kiképzett pohártartóval. During the excavations in Pompeii, the marble-shaped counter of Thermopolium (restaurant) was unveiled, with a stair-shaped cup holder on the street. There were usually two-room eateries, the food was stored and served across the street, while in the back room was the guest room where visitors could have their lunch while sitting. It was a popular habit among city dwellers to have lunch outside the house, as evidenced by the fact that 89 of the Thermopolis were discovered in the city during the excavations.
