A környező épületekhez hasonlóan az 1870-es években épült, majd az 1900-as évek elején alakították át a ma is látható kétszintes házzá. Nevének eredete Festetics (II.) Tasziló hercegi rangra emeléséhez kötődik, mivel a nevezetes esemény évében adták át az épületet. Az építtető a jeles alkalom emlékére adta a háznak az őt hercegi rangra emelő Ferenc József – magyar király és osztrák császár nevét.

Photo taken from a picture postcard. The picture shows the building of the Ferencz József House in Hévíz. Today it is the "D" building of the Szent András Rheumatism Hospital, which was renamed in 2007. Like the surrounding buildings, it was built in the 1870s and converted in the early 1900s into the two-storey house that can still be seen today. The origin of its name is linked to the elevation of Tasziló (II) Festetics to the rank of prince, as the building was inaugurated in the year of this famous event. To commemorate the occasion, the prince named the house after Franz Joseph, King of Hungary and Emperor of Austria, who made him a prince.
