A három ajtó közül, a középső a 206-os. 1896-ban történt megnyitásakor Közép-Európa legnagyobb és legkorszerűbb szállodája volt. 1945-ben részben elpusztult, majd 1956-ban kiégett, később újjáépítve bezárásáig 1992-ig Royal szállodaként működött. 1997-ben vette meg a Corinthia szállodalánc, amely teljesen felújította és átépítette. Az eredeti tervhez visszatérő helyreállítás ellenére, csak az épülethomlokzat eredeti, mögötte az épület többi részét lebontották és 2003-ban adták át az újonnan felépült szállodát, amely ma (2014) a Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal néven luxusszállóként működik. Ismert még Corinthia Grand Hotel Budapestként is.

When the hotel was opened in 1896, it was the largest and most modern hotel in Central Europe. Partially destroyed in 1945, it burnt down in 1956 and was later rebuilt and operated under the name Royal Hotel until its closure in 1992. In 1997 it was bought by the Corinthia hotel chain, which completely renovated and rebuilt it. Despite the restoration, which returned to the original design, only the façade is original, behind which the rest of the building was demolished and in 2003 the newly built hotel was inaugurated, which today (2014) operates as the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal.
