In France, in 1922 the Pathé brothers introduced their invention, the 9,5 mm film format for amateur film goals, under the name Pathé Baby. The film is perforated between the frames. The projector was manually driven, the light came from a "T" bulb, worked both from electricity network, and with battery or accumulator. The device soon became popular; in Great-Britain the Patheoscope Ltd. marketed the popular movies of the era in a rather shortened format for home screening. By the end of the 1950s the 8mm format has gradually replaced it.
