Bauer Sándor, a kép készítője; 1946-ban került az MTI-n belül működő Magyar Film Irodához fotóriporternek, majd 1957-től a Vendéglátás magazin munkatársa volt. Több mint négy évtizedes pályájának hagyatéka mintegy húszezer, nagyrészt negatívban fennmaradt fotó.

A Mihály kapu a főváros erődítményének négy kapuja közül az egyetlen fennmaradt emlékmű az óvárosban. A tornyot a 14. század végén építették. Nevét a Szent Mihály templomról kapta és a róla elnevezett városrészről, melybe a kapu vezetett. Mai barokk stílusú alakját 1753-1758 között kapta, a Szent Mihályt ábrázoló szoborral együtt. http://www.muemlekem.hu

A picture from photo collection of photographer Sándor Bauer who was the photo reporter of the Hungarian Film Office (belonged to MTI) as of 1946, and the employee of magazine Vendéglátás as of 1957. His legacy is about 20 thousand photos, mainly in negative.

Michael's Gate is the only surviving monument in the Old Town out of the four gates of the capital's fortress. The tower was built in the late 14th century. It got its name from the Church of St. Michael and the part of the city named after him, to which the gate led. It received its present Baroque style between 1753 and 1758, along with a statue of St. Michael.
