Az utasok ma már természetesnek veszik, hogy a budapesti metró segítségével néhány perc alatt érhetik el úti céljukat. Azt már csak kevesen tudják, mennyi összehangolt, precíz, megszervezett munkát, mindenre kiterjedő figyelmet kivan a metró dolgozóitól e szemlátomást gördülékeny és fennakadásmentes mechanizmus működtetése. A film a Batthyány téri metróállomáson folyó munka ismertetése során azonban elsősorban a különböző biztonsági felszerelések, műszerek, automata vezérlőberendezések bemutatására törekedett.
