A Sétakert a város legnagyobb területű, 4 hektáros parkja, a mély völgyben haladó vasútvonal mellett található. Már az 1850-es években létezett egy városi sétatér-alapítvány, mely kihágási büntetéspénzekből gyarapodott évről-évre. 1896-ban Tripammer Gyulának, a Szépítő Egylet ügyvezető-elnökének javaslatára vetették fel egy promenád létesítésének lehetőségét. Később a park elnevezése nagy vitát váltott ki a városban, végül a közgyűlés 1927-ben "Tripammer-kert"-nek nevezte el. A köztudatban azonban nem honosodott meg ez a változás, a város továbbra is Sétakertnek nevezte és nevezi most is a parkot. A Strandfürdő, majd a MAORT-lakótelep építésekor csökkent a területe. Azonban napjainkban is jelentős "zöld szigetként" áll a kanizsaiak rendelkezésére. (zoldkalauz.hu)

The Sétakert is the largest park in the city, covering 4 hectares, located next to the railway line in the deep valley. As early as the 1850s, there was a city walking space trust, which grew from year to year from the money collected from infringement fines. In 1896, the possibility of a promenade was raised at the suggestion of Gyula Tripammer, executive chairman of the Beautification Association. The name of the park later provoked a great debate in the town, and in 1927 the town council named it 'Tripammer Garden'. However, this change did not take over in the public consciousness, and the city continued to call the park "Sétakert" (walking garden). The area was reduced when the Beach Bath and then the MAORT housing estate were built. However, today it is still a significant 'green island' for the people of Nagykanizsa.
