Vasgyári fogyasztási szövetkezet épülete Diósgyőrben. A vasgyári kolóniát (eleinte „gyarmat”-nak hívták) a M. kir. Vas- és Acélgyár munkásai, hivatalnokai és vezetői számára építették, a gyártelep szomszédságában, egy attól nyugatra eső területen. A lakótelepet akkoriban a Monarchia mintatelepének tekintették. Az itt élők fizikai és szellemi ellátása céljából boltokat, iskolákat, orvosi rendelőket, kórházat és templomokat is építettek. 1887-ben épült fel a fiú- és a leányiskola, 1890-ben a gyógyszertár és a fogyasztási szövetkezet épülete („konzum”), 1896-ban a munkásétterem, két évre rá a kórház. A századfordulóra – főleg a diósgyőri vasgyár munkásainak ellátására – fogyasztási szövetkezet alakult, a fogyasztási szövetkezet épületét 1902-ben bővítették .

Iron factory Consumer Cooperative building in Diósgyőr. The ironworks colony (originally called the “colony”) was built for the workers, officials, and managers of the Royal Hungarian Iron and Steel Factory, next to the factory. The housing estate was then considered a model settlement for the Monarchy. Shops, schools, doctor's offices, hospitals, and churches were also built to provide physical and mental care to the people living there. The Scool for Boys and Girls was built in 1887, the pharmacy and the consumer cooperative building ("consumer") done in 1890, the workers' restaurant in 1896, and the hospital two years later. By the turn of the century, a consumer cooperative had been established, mainly to supply the workers of the Diósgyőr Ironworks, and the building of the Consumer Cooperative was expanded in 1902.
