A Vasárnapi Heves Megyei Hírlap 2007 nyarán megjelent cikkének híradása szerint: „Keserédes hangulatban kezdődött pénteken az idei Művészetek Völgye. Még sohasem fordult elő, hogy pénzhiány miatt több tucatnyi programot lemondjanak a szervezők. Az utolsó pillanatig reménykedtek a Művészetek Völgye szervezői, hogy sikerül összekalapolni az idei fesztivál 242 millió forintos büdzséjét, ám a végső számvetéskor 20 millió forint hiányzott. Márta István fesztiváligazgató még a megnyitó előtt is tett egy utolsó kísérletet arra, hogy meggyőzzön egy szponzort, ám a hiú ábránd helyett maradtak a szomorú tények: a fesztivál 18 éves történetében először több tucat előadást kellett lemondaniuk a szervezőknek...”

Never before had the organisers cancelled dozens of programmes due to lack of funds. The organisers of the Valley of Arts had hoped until the last minute that they would be able to pull together a budget of 242 million forints for this year's festival, but at the final count, 20 million forints were missing. Festival director István Márta made one last attempt to convince a sponsor before the opening, but instead of vain hopes, the sad facts remained: for the first time in the festival's 18-year history, the organisers had to cancel dozens of performances..."

The thematical press material collection (of which this article is a part) was made within the frame of a press monitoring service on behalf of the Cultural and Nature Conservation Association of Kapolcs.

The members of the Cultural and Nature Conservation Association of Kapolcs have been collecting articles and other materials related to the Valley of Arts Festival. Their material has grown by now into a collection consisting of thousands of documents. Most of them are about the Valley of Arts Festival, but there are press materials connected to either the settlements of the festival site or the performers of the events and sometimes to other cultural events as well.
