A Békés Megyei Hírlap 2011 nyarán megjelent cikkének híradása szerint: „Állami szerepvállalás nélkül megfeleződhet a hazai művészeti fesztiválkínálat. Az idén még nem csökkent jelentősen a rendezvények száma, a programoké viszont igen. Az idén húszéves Zempléni Fesztivált mostanáig afféle bezzegfesztiválként emlegethették a hazai szervezők. Míg a Művészetek Völgye felett például évről évre megkondult a vészharang, addig a főleg komolyzenei profillal rendelkező seregszemle fölött komolyabb pénzügyi nehézségek nélkül múltak az évek...”

Kivonat: Mivel a magyarországi művészeti fesztiválok egyre inkább a pénzszűkével és az állami támogatás hiányával szembesülnek így e miatt csökkenteniük kellett a programok számát és finanszírozási gondokkal kell szembenézniük. A helyzetet súlyosbítja a gazdasági helyzet, ami erős visszaesést vetít előre. A szervezőknek új stratégiákat kell keresniük a fesztiváljuk fennmaradása és a fesztiválnépszerűség megőrzése érdekében.

Abstract: As arts festivals in Hungary are increasingly faced with a lack of funding and state support, they have had to reduce the number of programmes and face funding problems. The situation is exacerbated by the economic situation, which foresees a sharp downturn. Organisers will have to look for new strategies to ensure the survival of their festival and to maintain its popularity.

The thematical press material collection (of which this article is a part) was made within the frame of a press monitoring service on behalf of the Cultural and Nature Conservation Association of Kapolcs.

The Cultural and Nature Conservation Association of Kapolcs have been collecting articles and other materials related to the Valley of Arts Festival. Their material has grown by now into a collection consisting of thousands of documents. Most of them are about the Valley of Arts Festival, but there are press materials connected to either the settlements of the festival site or the performers of the events and sometimes to other cultural events as well.
