"Határnyitás" című kiállítás a Bécsben lévő Balassi Institut Collegium Hungaricum Galerie UngArt kiállítótermében, a bécsi "Disign Woche" keretén belül rendezett kiállítás a Páneurópai Piknik 25. évfordulója alkalmából. A Magyar Kereskedelmi és Vendéglátóipari Múzeum 37 darab tárgyat illetve dokumentumot kölcsönzött a kiállítás részére. A kiállítás meghívója, prospektusa az MKVM Kereskedelmi Adattárában van. A kiállítás anyaga az 1980-as évek mindennapjaiba enged betekintést a határ osztrák és magyar oldalán. A poszteren jól látható a Magyarországon nyaraló NDK állampolgárok tízezreinek autói (főként Trabant és Wartburg), ahogy lassan araszolnak az osztrák határ felé 1989 őszén, miután a magyar kormány szeptember 11-én bejelentette, hogy szabadon távozhatnak Nyugat-Európába.

The exhibition "Opening the Border" was an exhibition on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Pan-European Picnic in the exhibition hall of the Balassi Institut Collegium Hungaricum Galerie UngArt in Vienna as part of the "Disign Woche" in Vienna. The Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism lent 37 objects and documents for the exhibition. The invitation and brochure of the exhibition are in the Commercial Database of MKVM. The material of the exhibition gives an insight into the everyday life of the 1980s on the Austrian and Hungarian sides of the border. The poster clearly shows the cars of tens of thousands of GDR citizens going on holiday in Hungary (mainly Trabant and Wartburg) as they slowly head for the Austrian border in the autumn of 1989, after the Hungarian government announced on 11 September that they would be free to leave for Western Europe.
