1942. július 25-én kezdődik a napló, ekkor kapta meg H. András munkaszolgálatos behívóját. Százada első állomása Monor volt, ahol közterület-rendezési feladatokat végeztek a tagok. (Öntözés, utcaseprés. A munka nem volt nehéz, de az egység vezetője előszeretettel kegyetlenkedett munkaszolgálatosaival, pl.: nem engedte őket inni, bukfenceztette őket az utcaköveken.) Innen az egység Szolnok, Debrecen, Máramaros-sziget útirányon át a Kárpátok lábánál, Észak-Erdélyben fekvő Borsa község melletti Prislap-tetőre ment. (A II. bécsi döntés után mindennapos román-magyar határsúrlódások miatt kellett megerősíteni a Kárpátok védhető pontjait.) Majd onnan a hegyoldalban fekvő Rotunda községre, (mely nevét rotundájáról kapta.)

The diary of Mr. András H. begins on the 25th of July, 1942, when András H. was called up to forced labor. The first stop of his unit was settlement Monor, where the members performed public land-planning tasks, such as irrigation and street-sweeping. The work was not hard, but the head of the unit liked to be cruel with the forced labor workers, e.g.: did not let them drink or forced them to make somersault on the cobblestones. The unit went to Prislap-roof next to settlement Borsa in Transylvania through the route of Szolnok, Debrecen, Máramaros-sziget in the North-Carpathian foothills.
