Jelen kiadvánnyal egy 12 éves munka ér véget, melynek során fény derült arra, mennyire hiányosak a Gömör–Tornai-karszt flórájáról szerzett ismereteink. Az enumerációban 83 fajt jelöltünk bizonytalan előfordulásúnak. Számos csoport kevésbé feltárt, példaként lehet említeni a galagonya, rózsa, szeder, pitypang, hölgymál nemzetségeket. Több faj elterjedése nem kellően feltárt, és a modern taxonómiai kutatások is rendszeresen felvetnek újabb kérdéseket. Így jelen kiadványunkat nem lezárásnak, sokkal inkább állapotjelentésnek tekintjük, mely kiindulási alapja lehet a további kutatásoknak.

This publication represents the conclusion of a 12 year project. But this is a study which has shown us the deficiencies in our knowledge of the flora of the Gömör–Torna Karst. We have marked 83 species with uncertain locality. Several taxa are less studied, e.g. the genus of Crataegus, Rosa, Rubus, Taraxacum or Hieracium. The distribution of a number of species has not been properly studied yet and modern taxonomical studies regularly raise new problems. So we do not regard this book as the final step of our work but rather as a status report which can be the starting-point of future studies.
