A fényképen a XX. sz. elején a Marczibányi-palota helyére épített négyemeletes lakóház látható. A ház elő- és utótörténete: A Dísz tér északi oldalán a 8. szám alatt kétemeletes, modernek mondott ház áll, mely Farkasdy Zoltán és Kenessey Attila tervei alapján az 1960-as évek végén épült. A 70-es évektől a Muskétás vendéglő működött a földszinten. Ezen a helyen a 18. század elején két középkori ház romjain új épületet emeltek. Ezt 1801-ben Marczibányi István vette meg, copf stílusban átépíttette és kibővíttette. Az épületben 1841-től a Budavári Casino Egylet működött. A Marczibányi-palota helyére a XX. sz elején négyemeletes lakóházat emeltek, mely az ostrom idején elpusztult. Helyette épült a napjainkban is álló lakóház, földszintjén ma is étterem működik. Változatlanul megmaradt Zala György szobrászművész 1893-ban készült Honvéd-szobra.

The photograph shows a four-storey apartment building built in the early 20th century on the site of the Marczibányi Palace. Story of the house: On the northern side of the square, at number 8, there is a two-storey modern house, built in the late 1960s, designed by Zoltán Farkasdy and Attila Kenessey. From the 1970s onwards, the Musketeers restaurant was located on the ground floor. On this site, a new building was erected in the early 18th century on the ruins of two medieval houses. It was bought by István Marczibányi in 1801, and rebuilt and extended in the Zopf style. From 1841, the building was used by the Budavár Casino Association. At the beginning of the 20th century, a four-storey apartment building was built on the site of the Marczibányi Palace, which was destroyed during the siege of Budapest. In its place was built the apartment building that still stands today, with a restaurant on the ground floor. Sculptor György Zala's statue (Home Defender) from 1893 has been preserved unchanged on the square.
