The photograph shows part of the interior of the Royal Baths, inaugurated in 1888. Designed and built by Vilmos Freund, the baths were located next to the Royal Hotel, which was built a little later. From 1903, a direct passage was available for hotel guests. The baths, which were in use until 1944, were forgotten for decades after the war and were only rediscovered in 1983 when a garage was to be built.
