Maison Dorée, Párizs, 1860-as évek
A párizsi "La Maison Dorée" étterem bejárata. A kép eredetije Jean Paul Aron Le Mangeur du XIX. Siécle című könyvében található.
Entrance to the restaurant "La Maison Dorée" in Paris. Its official name was "Le restaurant de la Cité", but the public called it "La Maison Dorée" because of the gilding used generously inside and outside the building. The restaurant was divided into two parts and had two entrances. One for ordinary mortals from the boulevard, the other for the elite served as a discreet tour from rue Laffitte. In addition to the many celebrities, writers also came here to create, the best known being perhaps Honoré de Balzac, who modeled the characters of his short stories from an eclectic circle of guests. His most famous dish is the Sirloin Rossini style, composed by the restaurant’s chef Casimir Moisson for the Italian composer.
